Make It Pop!

--- A PEAK INTO POP ART ---

What?

Pop art refers to an artistic movement that developed as a result of rapid post-war cultural growth and increased consumerism. Common characteristics of art from this movement would include repetition, solid bright colors, bold lines, straightforwardness, irony, and recognizable subjects from popular culture.

When?

Following World War II (1950s-70s), the United States saw much growth in popular culture, spread further due to increased access to technology and mass-produced goods. Pop art, starting in Britain and spreading to the U.S., often served as a reflection of everyday life at the time, drawing from advertisements, television, and film.
